- Camps are 5 days and take place during daytime hours.
- There aren’t any overnight stays.
- Camps start at 9:30 AM and end between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM each day.
- The last day of camp is the End-of-Camp Showcase where the kids get to share what they’ve learned with family and friends in a public setting.
Enrichment & Development Programs
Music
Music…the first love of DJ Square Knot and now he wants to share it with our Youth. This program involves learning about how to count music, the DJ Culture and History, equipment, shaping sound, basic DJ techniques such as mixing, blending, and scratching, reading a crowd, and experiencing several genres of music.
Creative Writing
Provide basic skills and techniques that will allow the kids to explore their imagination and make it to come to life through creative writing. This will allow these writings to develop into short stories, plays, children books, novels, poetry, etc. The options become limitless as they exercise their mind and creativity.
Theatre
There’s nothing like being able to act out scenes from your favorite play, book, or movie. But first, through lots of fun and training, we provide instruction to our kids on how to invoke expression to accomplish the best possible outcome for the roles they play. Thereby giving them a sense of pride and confidence to perform in front of an audience.
Dance
Get up and dance! All the fun and excitement begins right here! Kids will learn everything from Hip-Hop to Tap to Line Dancing in this program. The great thing about this program is whatever kids learn in the classes can immediately be shared and performed at the next family BBQ or gathering or any other event they may attend where the DJ is turning up and getting the crowd moving!
Poetry
Imagine having a thought that leads to another, that ultimately seems to flow into a story that can be formatted into a beautiful poem to share with family, friends, and even the world! We help develop these thoughts and encourage a constructive way to build and share them before an audience. All while having fun exploring their creativity.
Visual Arts
Our Visual Arts program is all about releasing the Artist within. Whether it be drawing, painting, or sculpting, we provide the means for kids to get in the zone to create Works of Art they can share with family, friends, and their community. Who knows, we may have the next Kehinde Wiley born out of Square Knot Kids! Let the creativity come forth!
Camps
The various Camps at Square Knot Kids are held in the Spring, Summer, and Winter. They are comprised of Arts Camps, DJ Camps, and other Visual and Performing Arts Camps. They range from three to five days and are packed with funfilled events. They allow the kids to explore their creativity, build self-esteem, leadership skills, enhance social skills and just be kids. The goal is to give the kids an opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, learn new things and just plain out have a ton of fun! So get ready for our Camps and let’s have a SPANTABULOUS time!
