Square Knot Kids has identified, through discussions with parents, teachers, and community leaders, that many families in Johnston, Wake, and Harnett counties of North Carolina, especially those with limited financial resources, struggle to afford essential school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, and pencils. This creates a significant financial burden on parents and caregivers. When students lack adequate supplies, they may experience difficulties keeping up with school work and may even feel self-conscious or excluded from their peers. This situation leads to disparities in educational opportunities.

By providing these supplies, we aim to level the playing field, ensuring that all students have the basic tools required to engage in classroom activities, complete homework, and ultimately enhance their academic performance.

This year’s Backpack Drive we aim to provide 500 students with bacpacks filled with schools supplies to prepare for the upcoming school year and additionally, support their families by alleviating the financial strain associated with purchasing these supplies.

The goal is to ensure equitable access to education for our community by providing essential resources to 500 students, allowing them to begin the school year well-prepared and ready to learn.

We give a big thanks to Tim and Pleasant Grove Community Building for providing us the space at no cost.
